The WillBond story
One box of beads, and the question it left behind
In 2013 we wanted three hundred wooden beads. Not ten, and not a kilo. Three hundred, in two sizes, for a bannister garland that had to be finished by Sunday. Every shop we tried sold one or the other.
So we counted them out ourselves, bagged them, and wrote the number on the front. That bag is the reason the rest of this exists.
What the WillBond team actually does
The WillBond workshop designs packs. That means choosing the count, the sizes and the colour mix that a real job needs, then writing all three on the label where you can read them before you buy.
A wreath takes more greenery than you think and fewer pins. A classroom of twenty-eight needs thirty of everything, because two will go missing on day one. A perm needs rods in three diameters, not sixty of one. These are the decisions that go into a pack, and they are the only thing we are really selling.
The rest follows from that. Wood is sanded before it is drilled, because a rough bead shreds cord. Elastic is cut on a measured roll, not by eye. Rods come in a bag that closes, because a hair rod on the floor is a hair rod gone.
Why the range looks so wide
People ask why one house makes both macrame beads and torch tip cleaners. The honest answer is that the two problems are the same problem. Both are small parts that people buy in the wrong quantity, in packs that hide the count.
The WillBond lineup grew along that line rather than along a category map. Beads led to cord, cord led to trim, trim led to the hair aisle, and the hair aisle led to the spa headbands that keep the dye off a fringe. Every step was a customer telling us the pack they wanted did not exist.

The table above is counted from the range as it stands today, and it moves. Some packs go quiet for a season and come back, and a few leave for good. We would rather show you the shelf as it is than a tidy number that stopped being true in June.
What a pack costs you in the end
Per piece is the number that matters, and it is the one nobody prints. A bag of one hundred and thirty macrame beads and a strip of six beads from a bead shop can look like the same money on the shelf. Divide by the count and the gap is wide enough to fund the cord as well.
That arithmetic is why our prices start at $3.99 and stop where they stop. We are not cheap for the sake of it. We are cheap per finished item, which is a different claim and an easier one to check: take the count on the front, divide, and compare.
The part we will not dress up
The WillBond range is supplies, not heirlooms. The wooden beads are birch, not walnut. The clamps are pressed steel and they will mark soft pine if you tighten them hard. Fold-over elastic loses its snap after a few hundred washes, which is fine on a headband and wrong on a waistband.
None of that is a flaw to hide. It is what makes the price what it is, and it is why we say the sentence most brands leave out: if you need one perfect piece, buy one perfect piece somewhere else. If you need forty that match, we can help.
